At EDL, we're powering the transition to a more sustainable energy future. As a global producer of sustainable distributed energy, we own and operate a diverse portfolio of power generation assets across Australia and North America. Our people play a critical role in delivering reliable, innovative energy solutions that support decarbonisation and long-term sustainability.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer to join our IT team. Reporting to the IT Manager, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, optimisation, security and ongoing support of EDL's global network infrastructure. This is a hands-on senior engineering role where you'll contribute to strategic initiatives while ensuring highly available, secure and resilient network services across our corporate, cloud and operational environments.

Working across a geographically dispersed international business, you'll collaborate with infrastructure, cybersecurity and operational technology teams to deliver modern networking solutions that support critical business operations. The successful candidate will be willing to travel domestically and internationally and participate in after-hours support activities when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support EDL's global enterprise network infrastructure across all business locations.
  • Ensure the availability, stability, integrity and performance of network services and provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for complex incidents.
  • Manage enterprise firewall platforms, VPN services, security controls and network security improvement initiatives.
  • Design and implement enterprise networking and hybrid cloud solutions across Microsoft Azure and on-premises environments.
  • Lead network transformation, migration, upgrade and optimisation projects.
  • Develop network architecture standards, technical documentation and implementation plans.
  • Contribute to disaster recovery, resilience and business continuity planning.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship and stakeholder engagement across the business.

About You

You are a proactive and solutions-focused networking professional with extensive experience supporting complex enterprise environments. You enjoy solving challenging technical problems, building trusted stakeholder relationships and driving continuous improvement through innovative technologies and automation.

You will bring:

  • Extensive experience supporting enterprise networks across geographically dispersed, multi-site organisations.
  • Strong expertise in Cisco switching, routing, wireless and Meraki technologies.
  • Experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls and network security best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of WAN, LAN, VLAN, QoS, BGP, MPLS, SD-WAN and cloud networking concepts.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Azure networking and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Highly Regarded

  • Cisco CCNA and/or CCNP Enterprise certifications.
  • Palo Alto PCNSA or PCNSE certifications.
  • Microsoft Azure Network Engineer Associate certification.
  • Experience working within critical infrastructure, industrial or operational technology environments.

Why Join EDL?

At EDL, you'll have the opportunity to work on global infrastructure projects supporting critical energy operations while contributing to the transition to a more sustainable future. We offer a collaborative environment where innovation, continuous improvement and professional development are encouraged and supported.

EDL is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.

To apply, please submit your current resume and cover letter.
