We are currently recruiting for a Purchasing Officer position to be based in our Perth office. This position will be responsible for the management of day to day Purchasing functions across the business units.

Key Areas of Responsibility

- To purchase goods and services cost effectively and competitively in accordance with company policies, including electronic filing of all supporting documentation.

- To support EDL Australia (and globally as required) with an uninterrupted flow of materials and services.

- Expedite supply of goods and services as required.

- Liaise and develop good relationships with end users, suppliers and internal management.

- Recommend suppliers from whom goods and services will be purchased to achieve the most cost effective outcome, considering quality, delivery and service requirements.

- Process variations to Purchase orders as and when required and close Purchase Orders no longer required by the business as directed by the company.

- Liaise with internal stakeholders as required.

- Assist Accounts Payable Staff where necessary, including discrepancy resolution on invoice variances to ensure processing and payment.

- Adopt fair and ethical conduct in all dealings and comply with all company policies and procedures as amended from time to time and as directed by Managers/Supervisors

- In addition to the duties set out above, perform other duties as assigned from time to time by the Company.

Person Specification

- High level of personal integrity and respect for ethical practices

- Maintain positive working relationships with all stakeholders

- Self-organisation and a high degree of personal accountability is demonstrated

- Ability to relate to and work closely with counterparties.

- Team orientated.

- Good computer skills, including the Microsoft office suite

- Able to prioritise workload to meet role deadlines.

- Good written and oral communication skills.

- Flexible and approachable.

- Ability to travel interstate if required.

Key Selection Criteria

Essential

- Demonstrated understanding of the concept of customer service in an external facing environment particularly as it applies to EDL

- Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications at intermediate level

- Knowledge, or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge, of relevant standards, legislation, guidelines, principles and practices applicable to Procurement policies, OH&S etc

- Practical experience in purchasing or demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire same

- Experience in the maintenance of external party relationships

- Intermediate interpersonal and communication skills and strong customer focus

- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and achieve targets

- Sound knowledge in the use of ERP and PC office based software applications

- Demonstrated time management and organisational skills

Desirable

- Relevant Purchasing (e.g. Queensland Purchasing certification) qualifications or equivalent in Procurement & Logistics Management or related discipline

- Previous purchasing experience (5-10 years)

- Knowledge of supply management systems & working in a purchasing and contracting framework

- Experience with Oracle Fusion system

- Proficiency with MS Office.
