Our Exciting Opportunity:

We are now looking for a Senior RAN Optimization Engineer to join our organization. In this job role, you will be responsible for the coordination, management and execution of optimization activities to improve the overall performance of the network or IS/IT infrastructure. You will perform optimization of a service acting on an end-to-end view, (non)-product and specific view securing the accurate optimization/ interaction of all resources in the network domains together or separately (Access, Core, Data, Transmission). This Service Function is composed by a number of Services Elements and Activities that define the scope of work according to the Ericsson’s Managed Services offer.

It performs the network optimization to meet the required Service Level Agreement (SLA) or to deliver the best efficient topology or configuration. Optimization must be viewed as a broader sense as it may be prompted to act to improve the overall service quality, based on the Quality of Service (QoS) or customer perception - but always under requirement of the MSIP, to ensure business consistency.

In this role, you would:

  • Conduct performance monitoring, expand sites and migrate users

  • Improve processes and ways of working

  • Participate in customer discussions

  • Take ownership to follow up on issues and customer concerns

  • Interface and collaborate with other Managed Services teams and project teams as required

  • Solve RF faults, perform interference analysis and provide recommendations

  • Ensure the timely and efficient execution of tasks

  • Be involved in shift work (day and night) as well as weekend work

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • A Bachelors/Masters in Electronic/Telecommunication Engineering or similar

  • Proven experience in a vendor or operator telecommunications project

  • Demonstrated ability in wireless networks with at least 3 years in LTE

  • Design & Optimisation experience with Ericsson Radio products

  • Strong performance management and troubleshooting experience

  • Knowhow of Ericsson MSDP tools such as ITK, ENIQ, moshell and AMOS

  • Understanding of Spectrum/Radio licensing

  • Understanding of interference challenges

  • Able to work under pressure and deliver results within tight timeframes

  • Good communication, knowledge sharing and team oriented approach

You may also have:

  • A basic understanding of Transmission engineering coupled with programming skills, particularly in languages such as VBA (Excel), Python or SQL is helpful.

  • Expertise with Radio Planning tools for instance Atoll, Asset, Planet or UNET together with experience working on Fixed Wireless Networks, particularly with LTE TDD is an advantage.

  • Involvement in projects with Radio Network Expansion activities and knowledge of ACMA regulations, RFNSA and EME compliance requirements is favourable.

  • Experience working in an operator or managed services environment with a strong focus on end user service continuity is also beneficial
