Consultant and Senior Consultant - Technology Risk - Financial Services

The opportunity

As our Consultant or Senior Consultant, you’ll use your passion for Technology and Risk with Financial Services experience, to join our diverse team. You will focus on providing Technology related risk services to our financial services clients. You will work with our banking, insurance, and wealth management clients to develop and deliver exceptional Services. 

All while maintaining work-life balance through hybrid working.

This role is based in Naarm – Melbourne. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.

Your key responsibilities

  • Deliver technology risk and assurance projects for both audit and non‑audit clients.
  • Deliver external audits focused on technology controls, including IT general controls and automated controls. Cyber risks and risks arising from new technologies such as AI and Cloud require you to be self‑motivated to learn alongside our clients.
  • Deliver independent assessments in a technology context, including compliance reviews against regulations and maturity assessments aligned to industry‑recognised frameworks.
  • Deliver technology and cyber control assurance services such as GS007, ASAE 3150, SOC 1 and SOC 2 reports.
  • Help clients address complex regulatory agendas relating to APRA requirements, particularly CPS 234, CPS 230, use of AI and AI-accelarated cyber threats
  • Identify, evaluate and manage risks that arise when an organisation engages with third‑party service providers.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Financial services industry-based knowledge and experience.    
  • Knowledge of, and experience in, IT audit supporting external audits, controls assurance reports, internal auditing, IT risk management strategies and techniques
  • A result orientated and commercially client focused mindset
  • Use knowledge of the current IT environment and industry IT trends to identify the engagement and client service issues.

Ideally, you’ll also have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.

  • A passion for emerging technologies and willingness to work within a team to advise clients on how to manage IT risks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Comfort to take on unfamiliar tasks and regularly learn new skills.
  • Maintain awareness of current industry IT trends and regulations.
  • Holding CISA, CISSP or other certifications relevant to technology and risk management is a plus.
