With your contribution and my contribution, together we will thrive.

Hei Oranga Iwi | The opportunity

Join a dynamic team at EY, where you’ll collaborate with talented professionals and leading organisations to advise on the tax implications of some of the most complex and high-profile deals in the market. As a Manager in our International Tax and Transaction Services team, you’ll have the tools, training, and flexibility to work on a variety of interesting projects, supporting your career growth while helping to build a better working world.

You’ll be part of a culture that values integrity, respect, and teaming, and encourages you to bring your unique perspective to everything you do.

Location: Auckland is preferred; however, we welcome applications from candidates with the right skillset based in Wellington or Christchurch.

Ko Tō Rourou | Your key responsibilities

As a Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional client service and driving business growth. You will:

  • Lead and manage multidisciplinary teams to support clients through buy-side and sell-side transactions, restructures, and international tax advisory projects.
  • Conduct tax due diligence, identify risks and opportunities, and prepare clear, insightful reports and structuring papers.
  • Guide clients through the tax aspects of transaction structuring, modelling, and integration, ensuring commercial objectives are met.
  • Support business development by preparing presentations, participating in client meetings, and demonstrating deep knowledge of client industries.

You’ll also contribute to the development of less experienced team members, foster a collaborative environment, and uphold the highest standards of quality and risk management.

Ngā Pūkenga | Skills and attributes for success

We’re looking for someone who brings both expertise and energy to the team. To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Significant experience in tax consulting, ideally within a top-tier accounting firm or similar environment, with a strong background in international tax, transaction consulting, and due diligence.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly to clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong project management abilities, including experience managing budgets, projects, and people, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • A collaborative and innovative mindset, with a positive attitude, attention to detail, and a passion for building relationships and learning from others.

A relevant degree (such as Law, Accounting, or Finance) and professional certifications (e.g., CPA) are desirable. Above all, you’ll demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to continuous development.
