As a Consultant / Senior Consultant within the Climate Change and Sustainability team, you’ll work as part of a multidisciplinary team across a range of industries, assisting organisations on how they manage and report on climate risk and greenhouse emissions. You will:

  • Contribute to strategy, solutions, methodologies, analytical frameworks and tools to help clients succeed and navigate complex regulatory environments and manage stakeholder expectations
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key business decision-makers, both internally and externally
  • Identify and communicate trends, developments, and key performance drivers relevant to the client, while demonstrating a deep understanding of the industry and marketplace.

Here’s our ‘wish list’ but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your strengths, what you want to learn, and how far you want to go.

  • Tertiary qualification, such as in engineering or environmental sciences, economics or accounting, law or the humanities. A sustainability-related specific qualification would be ideal.
  • Knowledge of relevant domestic climate change and sustainability policies, legislation, guidance and standards as well as a good understanding of the impacts of climate change
  • Practical experience with energy and emissions reporting schemes
  • Climate risk assessment and disclosure experience, including knowledge of the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD) Framework and a good understanding of the XRB’s climate standards.
  • A good understanding and knowledge of how global sustainability and climate change standards can be applied in the New Zealand context (including the new ISSB framework, and the GRI and SASB approaches to materiality).
  • Knowledge of, and experience in decarbonisation approaches and climate strategy.
  • A proven ability to research and make recommendations that are supported and underpinned by critical analysis.
  • A balanced and informed approach to problem solving.
  • A high degree of personal motivation and a proven track record of success in managing multiple activities and delivering projects within designated timeframes.
  • An appreciation of the role of Ti Tiriti Waitangi in order to to advance Māori priorities for the environment and for environmental success.
  • An ability to build trust, rapport and credibility with senior leaders
  • A commitment to developing your cultural capability and capacity in te ao Māori.

​​​​​​​We have one Senior Consultant position available. The salary range for this role is expected to be NZD 84,000 to NZD 96,250 dependent on skills and experience. This full-time role is for a minimum of 37.5 hours per week.
