At EY, you’ll have the chance to build a career as unique as you are, with the global scale, support, inclusive culture and technology to become the best version of you. And we’re counting on your unique voice and perspective to help EY become even better, too. Join us and build an exceptional experience for yourself, and a better working world for all.

The opportunity

As our Manager you’ll be supporting our clients in managing compliance obligations, designing transfer pricing models and navigating tax authority views and disputes including Advance Pricing Agreements and Mutual Agreement Procedures. We specialise in Banking Capital Markets, Wealth and Asset Management, Insurance, Payments and Private Equity.

This role is based in Warrang – Sydney or Naarm – Melbourne. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.

Your key responsibilities

  • Assist in Australian Taxation Office (ATO) transfer pricing reviews and audits based on economic principles. Formulate, recommend, and implement global tax transfer pricing policies for multinational companies in the financial services sector. Assist in negotiating Advance Pricing Arrangements with the ATO and other tax authorities, and prepare Mutual Agreement Procedure applications.

  • Analyse the impact of international tax policies and prepare recommendations on their consequences from an Australian tax and transfer pricing perspective. Model financial outcomes of cross-border debt and global trading arrangements, return on assets, and profit splits.

  • Provide fully integrated approaches to transfer pricing by preparing documents, data files, and models to fulfil client compliance obligations. Project manage multiple engagements to ensure they are delivered on time and within budget.

What we look for

Ideally, you’ll have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.

  • Possess at least 5 to 6 years of Transfer Pricing experience within a top-tier accounting firm, corporate, tax consulting, or legal environment. Demonstrate good drafting skills, the ability to apply facts to Transfer Pricing legislation, and advise clients on the implications.

  • Have experience in assimilating complex information and data sources to provide succinct and well-informed recommendations. Exhibit strong teaming and leadership skills with the ability to build trust and credibility quickly.

  • Show strong commercial acumen, staying abreast of wider legal, economic, environmental, and political factors that influence transfer pricing. Exceptional client service orientation and a collaborative approach to teaming are essential.

  • Hold an Economics degree, Accounting degree, Legal degree, Certified Practising Accountant, or Chartered Accountant qualification. Financial modelling, Excel skills, AI skills, and Bloomberg skills are beneficial. Financial services experience is preferred but not necessary.
