About the role
We are currently recruiting a Project Coordinator to join our team within the Water Major Projects team. This position will be based from Broken Hill, NSW.
The Project Coordinator is responsible for undertaking activities for projects such as surveillance and monitoring of construction activities, liaising with contractors, trades groups, consultants and external and internal service providers and suppliers for critical infrastructure projects.
Key responsibilities
- Provide overall surveillance and day‑to‑day monitoring of critical infrastructure construction activities to ensure compliance with designs, project plans, engineering standards, and OHS&E requirements
- Interpret plans, specifications, regulations, and codes of practice to ensure correct methods, materials, and contractor designs are implemented and maintained
- Coordinate project activities, including progress meetings, internal audits, issue identification, and preparation of written project status reports
- Identify project risks, non‑conformances, and deviations from plans, recommend corrective actions, and maintain logs of issues and poor work practices
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with engineers, directors, contractors, construction managers, and other key stakeholders
- Maintain accurate project records, reports, and files, ensuring quality control and risk management requirements are met
About You
This role requires proven experience applying formal project management qualifications within a water and sewer environment, alongside a strong understanding of relevant industry, regulatory, and statutory requirements. You will bring hands-on trade knowledge in building construction and/or engineering, with demonstrated capability coordinating projects and working effectively with contractors to deliver successful outcomes. Sound project management skills, strong computer literacy, and confidence using relevant systems are essential, as is your ability to communicate clearly and liaise with customers, business units, and key stakeholders. If you enjoy managing complex projects, collaborating with diverse teams, and applying your technical expertise in a practical, outcomes-focused way, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Project Management underpinned by Building Construction or Engineering Trade knowledge or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications.
