About the role
We are currently recruiting for a High Voltage Tester Tools and Equipment Technician to join our team, the role can be based in any major depot location within the Northern Essential Energy footprint. This position will require travel and overnight stays.
You will be responsible for the specialist inspection, testing and assessment of tools and equipment used in the Electrical Supply Network of Essential Energy.
Key responsibilities:
- Act as a key point of contact for specialist inspection, testing, and assessment of tools and equipment used on Essential Energy’s network.
- Provide specialist inspection and testing of mobile elevated work platforms used to access Essential Energy’s network.
- Regularly inspect high voltage testing tools and equipment to ensure they meet safety and operational standards.
- Perform calibration of testing instruments and troubleshoot equipment issues to conduct timely repairs.
- Provide technical assistance and training to team members on the proper use and care of testing tools and equipment.
- Work closely with operations teams to support high voltage testing projects and initiatives.
About you
As a High Voltage Tester Tools and Equipment Technician you will be able to demonstrate practical application of the qualification for this role.
You will also possess:
- The ability to work both independently and with others in a team environment.
- Basic computer operation skills.
- Sound interpersonal skills.
- Good communication skills.
- The ability to communicate and work amicably with internal and external customers and all relevant stakeholders.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Drivers Licence
- Certificate III qualification relating to the Electricity Supply industry ESI or Qualified Supervisors Certificate (Electrical)
- WorkCover NSW Construction Induction Cert
Required Qualifications
- Certificate IV in ESI — Power Systems Substation or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications.
