We are currently recruiting a Head of Property, to join our Governance and Corporate Services division. This role can be based anywhere within Essential Energy’s operational footprint throughout NSW.
About the role
Reporting to the General Counsel & Company Secretary, the Head of Property will provide leadership, direction and support to the Board, CEO, Executive and employees on all aspects of good property management practices.
A member of the senior management team within Governance and Corporate Services, the Head of Property will be responsible and accountable for the provision of all services relating to the organisation’s property needs. Leading and managing the property team, this position will be responsible for delivering effective outcomes in strategic alignment with business objectives and driving a commercial property culture across the wider organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and manage a Total Asset Management (TAM) approach, to manage the Property portfolio to ensure proactive lifecycle management approach to the portfolio
- Develop strategies to ensure that business accommodation is supplied in a manner that conforms to the TAM approach and ensures Work Health and Safety (WHS) and other relevant statutory compliance while meeting the timely and commercial needs of all business units
- Develop and manage planning process including the Property Business Plan to define the performance targets and goals under which the TAM property management strategy will be delivered
- Manage Essential Energy’s property portfolio including acquisition, disposal and lease arrangements in accordance with the TAM plan, while ensuring the most appropriate financial outcome is achieved in all related transactions
- Manage Essential Energy’s property capital expenditure planning process ensuring the five-year plan remains current and that all related projects are delivered on time and budget. This includes project and program delivery outcomes from the Australian Energy Regulator determination
- In conjunction with the TAM planning process, manage the longer-term development of an overall corporate office strategy so that the larger corporate facilities are fully utilised and that accommodation is provided for over the longer term
- Effectively manage Essential Energy’s property operating expenditure including commercially driving contract performance with key suppliers. This also includes primary ownership of the property management database and ensuring that the integrity of the data is always current.
