We are currently recruiting for a Senior Application Support Specialist – Operational Technology to join our eTech team. This role can be based anywhere within Essential Energy’s operational footprint.
About the role
As the Senior Application Support Specialist – Operational Technology, you will take a technical leadership role in the implementation, support, and training of tools across the business in the specific area of focus of the support team.
You will provide professional support and advice relating to the technology stack within the OT domain, ensuring services and tools provided are reliable, secure, and performing effectively while challenging the status-quo to continually improve the operations of eTech. You will also be accountable to the DMS Manager for providing technical leadership in a team delivering support and lifecycle management of Operational Technology systems for System Control and the broader networks business, on a 24x7 basis.
Key responsibilities
- Accountable for the provision of technical expertise to drive improvement and positive commercial and operational outcomes. You will drive collaboration between vendors and dispersed technical teams across the business to solve complex, time-critical problems that have operational and potential safety impacts
- Maintain and continuously develop a deep technical understanding of current and emerging technology associated with an integrated DMS/OMS environment, and support of System Control services and security solutions, allowing you to make recommendations and contribute to the establishment, and ongoing management of service and operational level agreements for the delivery of solutions to meet business objectives. You will influence and contribute technical expertise in planning, analysis and development of enterprise class software, and system architecture to support best practice security, operational and strategic deliverables
About You
To succeed you will have significant technical leadership experience in a similar role in an IT or OT application support or development environment with high level of experience and thorough knowledge of DMS/OMS platforms.
You will bring extensive understanding of operational environments with respect to ITSM management, and experience applying ITIL principles and will have proven experience working with System Control/Network Operations environment to support effective resolution of DMS/OMS and business systems operational issues and to ensure new initiatives align to system capability and operating procedures.
Skills
- Cognitive skills to review, analyse, consolidate, and synthesise knowledge to identify and provide solutions to complex technical problems autonomously
- Capability and technical skills to demonstrate a broad understanding of DMS/OMS technology in a complex, integrated environment with strong safety and security drivers
- Ability to apply extensive technical knowledge and theoretical concepts with advanced understanding in DMS/OMS solutions and System Control
- Advanced technical skills to design and apply industry, functional and process-based research in both operational and project environments
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Information Technology or similar field or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications
Desirable
- Industry qualifications in industrial control system applications
- Qualifications in project management
- Certification in related application technology
- Extensive understanding of distributed industrial control systems in the utility industry
- Electrical engineering qualifications
