We are currently recruiting an Internal Communications Manager, to join our Communications Team. This role can be based anywhere within Essential Energy’s operational footprint throughout NSW.

As the Internal Communications Manager you will be responsible for ensuring accurate, timely and audience targeted communications, in a fast paced and busy internal comms environment, ensuring a shared understanding of the Corporate Strategy and issues affecting Essential Energy’s employees and other stakeholders.
The role provides leadership and direction to ensure Essential Energy's corporate message is continually enhanced and delivered in a consistent manner across employees, while leading the internal comms team within the broader Communications team.
The role will work closely with the OCEO, senior leaders and the executive leadership team to implement the internal communications strategy, while providing strategic guidance on the development and delivery of communications, events and activities engage employees across the organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Manage internal communications (and any assigned budget) for Essential Energy (and Essential Water), providing a positive impact on employees, ensuring all corporate communications activities comply with relevant legislation and ethical standards
- Develop and implement Essential Energy’s Internal Communications Strategy, reporting on progress and key metrics, while leading the internal communications team to deliver on the strategy, ensuring targeted, timely, relevant and engaging communications to all employees while continuing to uplift internal communications capability across the business
- Take ownership for the preparation and deployment of internal communications for Transformation aligned to the Corporate Strategy - utilising communication channels effectively and ensuring all documentation meets business communications standards and corporate requirements.
- Manage, research, monitor and measure the effectiveness of internal communications tools, systems, procedures and campaigns and make recommendations to the Head of Communications on improvements in effectiveness and efficiency
About You
You have a passion for communications, and a thirst for ensuring our people receive engaging content to keep them informed on the delivery of the corporate strategy and news that is relevant to them and their roles.
You’re an experienced Internal Communications professional with a proven track record managing an internal communications teams and functions. You’ll bring extensive project management experience, enabling you to seamlessly coordinate the delivery of multi-division communications projects across the organisation, with your experience in the research, development and implementation of internal communications programs will play a crucial role in delivering our corporate strategy effectively.
An excellent communicator, you will build strong engagement across internal organisational networks to ensure the successful delivery of core communications programs.
Required Qualifications/Skills
- Bachelor Degree in Communications or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications
- Extensive experience writing, implementing and measuring the effectiveness of internal communications strategies and plans
- Ability to execute internal communications campaigns in a large and geographically diverse enterprise
- Superior written and verbal communications skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work closely with senior management and executive teams
- Strong leadership experience
