We are currently looking for a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to join our Team. This role will be based in the Mid North Coast of NSW, with a preference to be located at either Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie or Taree.

About your new role

You will have overall responsibility leading a large team of trade professionals, providing safe and reliable electricity to our customers, leading safety excellence and striving to ensure your team is best placed to ensure a safe and reliable electricity network, as well as supporting the future energy transition.

You will provide strong leadership of a large team across a large geographic footprint, in the pursuit of sustainable financial returns, best practice approaches, and safety leadership.

You will be responsible for driving the delivery of the safest working environment possible and a ‘High Performance Culture’ across a geographically dispersed team.

About You

  • You must be a highly motivated and experienced individual who has demonstrated success in building and maintaining cross-business relationships, with a proven track record of building a safe, high-performing and engaged teams
  • Be a safety focussed leader, ensuring decisions are made with an absolute focus on safe outcomes every day
  • You should think and act in an innovative and strategic manner, with strong experience working in a complex, fast-paced, changing environment and a proven ability to manage a diverse workload
  • You accept responsibilities and accountabilities and are focused on delivering outcomes to meet the wider team objectives. As a team player you are willing to roll up your sleeves and support your team to deliver on company objectives
  • With a strong financial acumen that translates into safe and effective in field deliverables, whilst ensuring the overall statewide operational objectives are achieved (one team approach)

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management or an Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications

Experience

  • Significant operations management experience working in a high-risk/industry, with solid knowledge and understanding of the technical issues involved in the working on HV plant and equipment
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a large geographically dispersed team
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a P&L and understanding of what drives financial performance
  • Strong experience working in a complex environment with competing demands and changing landscape
  • Experience in customer engagement and management and driving cultural change within a workgroup
