About the role
We are currently recruiting for a Manager, Telecommunications Networks, Digital Operations to join our Digital Services department. This role can be based anywhere within Essential Energy’s operational footprint.
As the Manager, Telecommunication Networks in Digital Operations you will support the Manager, Critical Platforms, and the Head of Digital Operations and Cybersecurity mature and improve the overall capability and quality of the People, Processes, and Technology within the Telecommunications department to ensure that Digital Services is providing operational excellence and outstanding customer service at all times.
You will ensure that all critical aspects required to shape the future Telecommunications direction for Essential Energy Telecommunication Network and platforms. Assist in setting strategic direction, operating plans, and budgets for our hybrid multi-cloud network, data centres and corporate sites. The role is pivot to our communications, radio sites and fibre network to support Essential Energy sites, zone substation, tele-protection and TelBU/Intium customer solutions.
As an integral component of the Digital Operations leadership team you will assist in setting strategic direction, operating plans, and budgets. to support both the Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) environments for Essential Energy.
About You
- Experience in leading and developing teams with a focus on driving Continuous Business Improvement.
- Proven experience in a similar telecommunications role
- Experience in developing and reporting on budgeting and forecasting.
- Demonstrated understanding and associated impacts on Essential Energy of legislative and regulatory frameworks and changes related to Telecommunications in Australia.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Telecommunications), Computer Science or Computing Technology or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications.
Desirable
- Contemporary application certifications related to specialties, e.g., Cisco Certification, Cloud Networking Certification, ITIL Foundation
- Qualifications in Project/Program Management (e.g., Prince 2, Managing Successful Programs, PMBOK etc.)
- Relevant industry-based certifications, highly regarded
