About the role
We're seeking a Portfolio Reporting Analyst (Data Analytics Specialist) to join our Portfolio Services team. It is preferred that this role will be based from our office in Port Macquarie, however we are open to other locations within Essential Energy's Operational Footprint. In this pivotal role, you'll be the driving force behind our data-driven decision-making processes.
As our analytics expert, you'll provide high-level commercial business intelligence that supports portfolio performance management. Your insights will shape strategic advice for our Senior and Executive management, ensuring our organisation's portfolio is managed with precision and foresight.
By leveraging cutting-edge analytics and maintaining data integrity, you'll empower stakeholders to make informed decisions that enhance business outcomes and foster continuous improvement. Your work will establish a single source of truth across Essential Energy, revolutionising how we understand and utilise our data.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the development of specialised, high-level analysis and critical network portfolio reporting to drive business efficiencies and cost reduction strategies across Network Divisions
- Own the end-to-end data process, addressing data quality, validation, mining, and advanced modelling.
- Work with stakeholders to uncover their problems, understand the data architecture and their data needs, and implement solutions to support those needs and to add value.
- Develop, implement, and promote performance indicators to measure and communicate the performance of the portfolio, ensuring relevant, accurate, and comprehensive information on current operations, identified issues, and recommended solutions.
- Act as a champion for data-driven decision-making, advocating for the use of high-quality data and advanced analytics to inform strategic and operational decisions. Ensure that the organisation maintains a single source of truth for its data, thereby improving consistency, reducing errors, and enabling more effective decision-making across all levels.
About You
The ideal candidate for this role will bring:
- Extensive experience in analysing business and operational data.
- Proven expertise in developing and modifying datasets and reports using Power BI
- Strong background in data architecture, modelling, warehouse design, and data lake concepts
- A demonstrated understanding of reporting and analysis frameworks, with the ability to interpret and implement requirements for senior managers and critical stakeholders.
- Exceptional research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, coupled with strategic and innovative thinking to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
Required Qualification
- Degree in Business Management, Commerce, Accounting, or Information Technology related discipline or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications.
Desirable
- Certifications in Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate.
