About the role
We are currently recruiting for a Principal Data Modeller Engineer working within our Digital Delivery division. This role can be based anywhere within Essential Energy’s operational footprint. This role will be a 12-month fixed term contract with potential to extend.
The Principal Data Modeller/Engineer plays a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipeline architecture, data models, data stores, and data infrastructure. This role involves directing data modellers and engineers in creating data solutions on the Azure data platform, collaborating with data architects and business stakeholders, and ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practices.
About You
You are a dynamic and experienced leader with extensive experience in data architecture, data modelling, data engineering, data warehouse design, and data lake concepts. You have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and a proven ability to lead and mentor junior Data Modellers / Engineers.
In addition to this, you will bring to
the role:
- Proven expertise in Microsoft Azure Data Platform, with a strong focus on Azure Databricks.
- Practical experience with Sparx EA, Erwin or an equivalent modelling and design tool
- Proven knowledge and experience with Star Schema definition
- Strong knowledge of metadata management for data modelling
- Practical experience with translating business requirements into data solutions and physical data modes aligned to conceptual and logical reference data models
- Practical experience defining data models in collaboration with Business Analysts, Data Architects and stakeholders
- Working knowledge of Git and Devops practices; Azure Devops desirable.
- Copperleaf, NEARA or Energy related systems experience desirable.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree of Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or demonstrated capability through past employment experiences and/or relevant qualifications.
