About the role

We are currently recruiting for Assessor Trainer to join our People & Safety division and can be based anywhere within Essential Energy’s Southern operational footprint. Some travel is required.

As an Assessor Trainer, you will be responsible for delivering training and assessments for both the network business and external customers. Your primary focus will be supporting Essential Energy’s programs and regulatory compliance initiatives.

This position will provide high-quality training and assessment services for our distribution apprentice programs for both overhead and underground, however, will also provide training to other programs within our RTO. The role requires an innovator, who is passionate about mentoring and developing apprentices and tradespersons who can effectively respond to the training demands and work within a variety of environments and teaching delivery modes. This will require an individual with extensive Electrical Supply Industry background. Assessor Trainers are also responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Your duties will also include providing high-quality training and assessments in both classroom and workplace settings, conducting post-training Verifications of Competency (VOCs), and reporting outcomes. These tasks will align with training plans, relevant service level agreements, organisational training matrices, national training packages, or specific training outcomes required by the network business. This role may require some travel around the geographical footprint at certain times.

Additionally, you will help develop training and assessment resources, schedule work programs, and ensure compliance with Registered Training Organisation (RTO) standards in accordance with ASQA (SNRs).

Ideally you would be an outgoing, people focused and dynamic individual who is passionate about the industry. You will be invested in best practice and developing Essential Energy’s future and current people and practices.

You will need an understanding of Australian Skills Authority (ASQA), State Training Services, Vocational Education and Training (VET) contractual RTO/training function and other regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Certificate III ESI - Distribution, Cable Jointing or Electrotechnology qualification
  • Work Cover NSW Construction Induction Certificate
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications
  • Senior First Aid
  • Drivers License

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous Electrical Supply Industry network switching experience.
  • Previous training experience in Cable Jointing and Powerline Distribution programs.
  • Possess current High Risk Work Licences – Forklift, EWP, Crane, Dogging
