About the role
Reporting to the Sustainability Manager the Purpose of the role is to work as a technical expert, providing leadership, compliance advice around business risk processes, practical support for all Sustainability disciplines. A key function of this role will be to provide operational risk management advice and services to support the implementation and maintenance of CGO’s Material and Critical Risk Control Program.
Key responsibilities and duties
- Ensuring the Risk Framework is maintained and implemented
- Coordinate the scheduled review and update of the material and critical risk management plans and critical control plans
- Facilitate risk assessments at all levels (WRAC, Bowties and operational).
- Provide professional advice and hands on support to the management team to ensure that the Safety and risk management system, processes and tools are effectively implemented, understood, and complied with.
- Provide training and advice to management, employees, and contractors to assist them to manage risk
- Assist with the maintenance and review of the risk register and legal register
- Prepare risk management reports to the risk committee
- Develop internal audit scope and tools and perform internal audits against scope
- Advise and assist departments with developing quality assurance and compliance processes
- Provide advice on sustainable and practical corrective measures
- Facilitate or participate in Incident investigations, including ICAM’s when required.
- Support the Management of Change program onsite
- Ensure that all safety and health related tasks, documents and training are carried out in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Act and Regulations and the Work Health and Safety (Petroleum and Mines) Act and Regulations and any other standards which apply.
About you
To be considered you must have previous experience working in a health and safety role, in an industrial, construction or mining environment. You will use your communication and collaboration skills to contribute to and maintain team balance and success. The right candidate will possess a high level of written and oral presentation skills, enabling, you to share knowledge with all levels of the organisation and key stakeholders. To succeed in this role, you must have the ability to effectively prioritize work, and follow instructions and procedures and lead by example.
You must have/ demonstrate experience with
- Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (Essential)
- Qualifications in Risk Management or related discipline (Desirable)
- Qualifications in Change Management (Desirable)
- Demonstrated Risk Management work experience
- Incident Investigation (ICAM)
- Lead Auditing qualification
- Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and tools
- A high level of strategic thinking, planning and problem-solving ability
- Competent user of MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, INX, Risk Analysis Tools and Software
