Our Group operations are based in Sydney CBD providing support across all sites in several key areas including our Transformation & Effectiveness (T&E) team that includes Geology, Mining, Geotechnical, Processing, TSF and Asset Management. As part of our continuous development, we have an opportunity for an experienced Process and Metallurgical OR Asset Management leader to influence and deliver strategic and tactical objectives across our team of metallurgical, process, asset management and tailings professionals. Advanced experienced in one discipline is essential, combined with a solid appreciation of all elements of the role being highly advantageous.
About the role
This role is responsible for identifying opportunities for value accretion across the business, supporting the development of ongoing and new projects and providing guidance on current Evolution and global best practice and innovation in metallurgical, processing and asset management matters.
The Group Manager provides leadership across their team for the development of new and expansion projects in the Group including coaching; technical assistance; compliance; design of standards, guidelines, and their implementation; KPIs monitoring and optimisation; report review and audit; budget and technical peer reviews. You will also lead, facilitate, and participate RCA & technical investigations as required. A key part of this role includes influencing, mentoring, coaching, and leading transformation, and innovation across the group.
Key result areas for a role of this nature include:
- Influencing and ensuring consistent communication, assurance, and governance with respect to Metallurgical, Processing and Asset Management standards and processes across our business
- Fostering collaborative, productive relationships across the organisation and guiding external specialist providers and technical consultants.
- Driving a focus on efficiency and effectiveness, driving transformation and continuous improvement in processing, metallurgical and asset management practices including use of innovative technology and world class standards.
- Provide technical support to growth projects, including due diligence, assessment of opportunity & risk, and potential integration relating to current operations and M&A activities.
Safety is paramount in all we do, and you will lead a ‘Safety First’ approach, ensuring health and safety global best practise and culture is implemented and driving initiatives that safely improve and optimise production.
About you
To succeed in this position, you will have proven experience in metallurgical, operational, project and maintenance management experience in the gold processing and extraction sector. It is also important that you have or can demonstrate:
- Capability in influencing and developing Metallurgical, Processing and Asset Management practices and supporting the professional and technical growth of engineering teams.
- Effectively communicate complex process ideas at all levels with a natural ability to build relationships across functions and operations from Operator to Board level.
- Proven experience at a comparable level within an organisation in either a Group (or significant Site based operation) where you held accountability, delivering operational efficiency, driving accurate and reliable interpretations/decisions, and implementing best practice in both technical and operational areas.
- Bachelor of Science (Metallurgy) or equivalent relevant qualification. Post graduate qualifications and membership with the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, or similar professional affiliation, would be well regarded.
- A working knowledge of environmental and site safety best practice and commitment to our goal of Net Zero 2050.

This role is ideally Sydney based however other Australian locations may be considered. This is a corporate based role, however, the successful candidate must be prepared to travel to our sites, when required.
