Ernest Henry Mining is a copper and gold mining and processing operation located 38 kilometres northeast of Cloncurry in Northwest Queensland. Originally an open pit mine, Ernest Henry Mining transitioned to underground mining in 2011 and includes a copper concentrator and numerous support services.

About The Role

Evolution Mining currently has an opportunity for a Health Advisor within the Sustainability team. Reporting to the Lead Health and Emergency Management Advisor, this position is primarily responsible for injury management and health promotion.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating injury management including liaison with Workcover and all stakeholders
• Reporting workplace trends and developing job role criteria
• Performing ergonomic assessments, functional capacity assessments, and organizing health promotion activities
• Implementing proactive occupational health programs for injury prevention and wellbeing
• Providing soft tissue treatment to injured workers when required
• Supporting Health and Emergency team functions including drug testing and mine rescue activities
• Maintaining accurate medical and injury management records, liaise effectively with stakeholders,
• Presenting health-related information to toolbox and safety meetings
• Commitment to living and supporting the Evolution values of Safety, Excellence, Accountability, Respect
• Leading a safety culture of continuous improvement and playing an active role in our Net Zero 2050 goal

About You

The ideal candidate for this position will be a professional, motivated, and enthusiastic individual with strong teamwork skills. You must have excellent time management skills, good interpersonal skills, and consistently deliver accurate and high-quality results.

To be considered for this position, you must possess and demonstrate competency in the following.

• Formal qualifications with AHPRA Registration as a Physiotherapist (preferred), Occupational Therapist or Registered Nurse.
• Previous mine site or industrial experience is preferable but not essential.
• Experience managing Work Related and Non-Work-Related injuries and implementing Suitable Duties and Health Management Plans.
• Prior experience applying health risk mitigation strategies
• Experience in Workplace Rehabilitation and an understanding of QLD Workers Compensation legislation.
• A high level of computer literacy is essential (Microsoft suite).
