About the role
Evolution Mining is currently seeking a Senior Community & Indigenous Relations Advisor for our Ernest Henry Mine on a full-time residential basis. Reporting to the Manager - People and Culture, the purpose of the role is to drive the integration of community and stakeholder engagement strategy within the communities in which we operate.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Leading community and indigenous relations governance and assurance practices through the integration of Evolution Sustainability Policy and Standards
- Identifying and managing community and social risks
- Delivering community development programs according to the Community Plan
- Implementing and maintaining stakeholder engagement plans and agreements
- Supporting the development of professional communications materials
- Managing commitments in agreements with First Nation partners
- Complying with social license legal obligations
- Representing and promoting Evolution at community forums and events
- Collaborating with Group SMEs on sustainability initiatives
- Participating in Evolution Communities of Practice to share knowledge and experience
- Commitment to living and supporting the Evolution values of Safety, Excellence, Accountability, Respect
- Promoting a safety culture of continuous improvement and playing an active role in our Net Zero 2050 goal
About you
We are looking for someone who has proven results in delivering and meeting customer expectations, who enjoys working with people in cross cultural environments. You must have a high-level oral communication skill including skills in facilitating, presenting, and negotiating to a variety of audiences. Experience in compliance reporting, media and community liaison will be a key skill in this role
To be considered for this role you must have / demonstrate.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications within the social sciences/communications realm
- Postgraduate qualification in Community Relations (highly regarded)
- Leading and facilitating project teams or working groups
- Experience in the Mining and/or Construction sectors (highly desirable)
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, including building strong relationships with indigenous communities
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills at all levels, with proficiency in mediation, negotiation, and conflict resolution
