Our Ernest Henry Mine (EHO) is a copper and gold mining and processing operation located 38 kilometres northeast of Cloncurry in Northwest Queensland.
About the role
The purpose of this role is to safely perform the duties of an underground grader operator for the Ernest Henry Underground Mine. This position is residentially based in Cloncurry, DIDO from Mount Isa or FIFO from Townsville and Cairns. The roster for this role comprises of eight (8) days on, seven (7) days off, seven (7) nights on, six (6) days off, 12-hour shifts.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining the roadways and declines in a safe and efficient manner
- Operating the water truck for dust suppression purposes
- Coverage of other roles (service crew, bomber / relief, underground dump truck, loader, magazine keeper etc)
- Maintaining health, safety, statutory, regulatory, and licensing standards, and principles, both within own workplace and through the identification of potential risks throughout Evolution

About you
As a Grader Operator you will have the ability to safely operate the equipment required to perform various duties (grader, water truck etc.). The successful applicant will be reliable, have a strong work ethic, and strive to be part of a high performing team. This role will require you to be willing to carry out a variance of tasks as directed by your supervisor.
We are looking for people who have the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience in underground dump truck driving - preferable
- Competent operating Caterpillar 140/150M series or equivalent graders
- Experience in decline grading, maintenance of roads, leveling out road base and cutting of drains
- Hold a current manual driver’s licence.
- Commitment to consistent and safe production, utilising quality, and best practice concepts.
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team
- Willingness to support and mentor other team members.
