Our Ernest Henry Mine (EHO) is a copper and gold mining and processing operation located 38 kilometres northeast of Cloncurry in Northwest Queensland.
About the role
The purpose of this role is to perform planned and reactive maintenance tasks safely and effectively. This position is residentially based in Cloncurry, DIDO from Mount Isa or FIFO from Townsville and Cairns, Brisbane.
This role focuses on the daily maintenance of mobile equipment and related areas, with the aim of ensuring their reliability and availability. Reporting to the Underground Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, this position is responsible for working safely and efficiently on all fleet units while maintaining high workmanship standards.
The roster for this role comprises of eight (8) days on, seven (7) days off, seven (7) nights on, six (6) days off, 12-hour shifts.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Maintain ongoing compliance of assets by following Maintenance Standard Tasks and addressing ad hoc work orders promptly and effectively.
- Conduct regular assurance interactions and inspections to ensure adherence to current Mines Act/Regulations, ensuring a safe workplace for all employees
- Identifying risks/hazards and applying effective controls via use of PTRA’s, JSEA’s or formal Risk Assessments
- Producing high-quality workmanship to meet or exceed maintenance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), resulting in improved maintenance outcomes
- Completing S1, S2, and S3 certifications to ensure contractors competence and compliance with safety protocols
- Sharing technical knowledge with supervisors and peers to enhance overall departmental understanding of assets and compliance requirements
- Collaborating with supervisors and planners to ensure the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) data remains up to date
- Contributing to maintaining budgetary constraints within the existing financial plan, while still meeting operational needs

About you
The successful applicant will have the ability to make decisions, meet deadlines, have strong communication skills and always strive to be part of a high performing team.
We are looking for people who have the following skills and experience:
- Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication / Boilermaker Trade.
- Experience in Mobile Maintenance in a mining environment
- Excellent written and oral communication with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well within a team environment, and with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence key decision makers within a mining environment.
- Knowledge of applicable legislation, standards and codes of practice.
- Exposure to scheduling and mine planning processes is highly regarded.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of Safety Management Systems and incident report/investigation systems
