This is a site-based position, working at our Ernest Henry operation. The Ernest Henry copper-gold operation (EHO) is a large-scale, long-life asset. The operation employs sub-level caving or extraction method. It is located 38km north-east of Cloncurry, Queensland on the traditional lands of the Mitakoodi people.
About the role
Evolution Mining is currently seeking multiple Bomber / Relief Operators to fill current vacancies. Reporting to the Supervisor - Underground Production, you will be responsible for working on day-to-day tasks associated with production blasting, maintaining mine services, production bogging and trucking. Key Responsibilities will include:
- Performing acting duties of other roles (service crew, loader operator, underground dump truck, grader, rock breaker, magazine keeper etc.)
- Ensuring statutory compliance associated with explosives storage and usage are adhered to
- Maintain mine service (air, water, ventilation, spray lines, firing lines)
- Using controlled explosives or rockbreakers to remove oversize produced by the cave
- Operate and Hot seat production equipment safe and efficiently, as required
- Promote high safety performance through personal commitment to policies and procedures
About you
We are looking for people who have the following attributes, skills and experience:
- Hold a current Queensland security explosives clearance card (QSEC)
- Previous experience operating underground mining machinery (IT, Forklift, Basic Loader/Trucks)
- Relevant industry experience of working in underground/blasting operations
- A strong commitment to safety
- Ability to self-manage time and workloads
