This is a site-based position, working at our Ernest Henry operation. The Ernest Henry copper-gold operation (EHO) is a large-scale, long-life asset. This will include overseeing the execution of geotechnical engineering design and analysis activities. You will ensure that the team delivers cost-effective, functional, and robust designs that meet safety standards, design criteria, and enhance reserve recovery.

Ernest Henry is going through an exciting Feasibility Study extending the mine life out to 2040. This role will be heavily involved with the study ensuring that the geotechnical hazards are understood and controlled to enable the site’s full potential to be achieved.

You will also play a crucial role in enforcing risk controls, recommending corrective measures for geotechnical challenges and engage external consultants or resources when necessary. You will manage the team's budget and compliance with reporting requirements all the while promoting the development and skills competencies of team members through coaching and guidance.

About you

The ideal applicant must have a tertiary qualification in geotechnical engineering or a related field, as well as prior experience working in underground mining operations. You will be skilled in collaborating with key stakeholders to define scopes, address challenges and deliver effective solutions.
