About the role

Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer UG, the Poducion Engineer is responsible for the production engineering functions to support the underground mining operations team, to deliver annual budgets within required standards (safety, values and cost).The key function of the Production Engineer UG is to liaise between the Technical Services team, Contractor and Mine Operations departments.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Developing, implementing, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures, Safe Work Instructions/Processes, and design standards for operational activities
• Drill & Blast including, developing and providing safe and efficient drill and blast plans to drilling and blasting contractors to ensure good production outcomes
• Planning, including developing, documenting and communicating 1 week production schedules and prioritizing the key activities that drive the short-range forecast
• Monitoring and Support, including, daily production data capturing and reporting, developing, and delivering communications to mining crews
• Ensuring that operational activities are carried out in accordance with applicable Health and Safety Acts, Regulations, Australian Standards and site regulations

About you

This is an opportunity for a driven and collaborative Engineer who is seeking an opportunity in a new underground mining operation. You must be capable of maintaining good relationships with all teams, identifying where plans and actions are diverging and addressing the gaps to maintain adherence to plan.

You must have /demonstrate:

• Tertiary Engineering Qualifications
• Mine engineering experience underground
• Competency in identifying, understanding and solving complex problems.
• Skilled at communicating information – verbal, written, numerical and graphical.
• Ability to develop excellent relationships with peers, leaders and subordinates
• Be self-directed to achieve individual, team and organisational goals
• Experience with mine design software.
