About the role

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Superintendent Engineering and Projects is responsible for implementing and managing Safety in Design processes, to ensure that engineering design conducted for site projects is demonstrably safe so far as is reasonably practicable, as required by and in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Act.

In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of Project and Engineering protocols. Your role will involve helping team members understand and follow essential Project and Engineering principles.

Key responsibilities / result areas in this role include:

  • Managing maintenance engineering projects
  • Leading and guiding the team to achieve KPIs and meet deadlines
  • Overseeing project scoping, management, and execution for maintenance and capital projects
  • Driving engineering reviews and designs for projects of varying scales
  • Coordinating engineering consultant activities effectively
  • Strategically managing site Drafting & Document Management and contribute to long-term planning
  • Championing Evolution Mining's Values and commitment to Safety, Environment, Inclusion and Diversity, and Emissions Reduction (Net Zero)

About you

The ideal candidate should possess a degree in Engineering, along with a track record of plant maintenance in the mining sector, robust engineering design skills, and a demonstrated history of managing capital projects. This role requires you to have effective leadership capabilities for overseeing and mentoring a team of experienced professionals and technical staff. Proficiency in project management, a proactive and autonomous work approach, and a dedicated focus on continuous improvement are essential. The candidate should demonstrate a strong capability in prioritization, budgeting, cost management, and exhibit strong interpersonal as well as communication skills. Familiarity with Pronto, and CMMS functionality, will be highly regarded.

You will have strong written and oral communication skills, with experience in compliance reporting, and have excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills, both with external and internal stakeholders, and across all levels of the business. To be successful in this role you must be proactive and have a willingness to work through challenging situations.
