About the Role

The work is dynamic and varied, perfect for individuals who thrive in a growing and collaborative environment. As a valued member of our team, you will significantly impact Company-wide project management activities, processes, and systems, providing visibility into resourcing and project outcomes.

The role is ideal for someone who is adaptive, with a strong embedded engineering background, and is comfortable navigating commercial discussions and managing projects from concept to completion. You’ll have a mix of your own projects, engaging in front-end planning, estimation, and requirements elicitation, and following through on the back end. This includes overseeing systems, risk, change, reporting, and invoicing. Additionally, you’ll support and mentor engineers to deliver smaller bodies of work in line with Exa’s ISO 9001 quality system and best practices.

As the role blends project management, relationship management, and systems engineering, you’ll write and translate commercial and technical requirements into actionable project plans. Above all, you will be a key mediator, facilitator, collaborator, and guide.

To be Successful in this Role You Will

  • Have ~7+ years of combined technical AND/OR systems engineering experience with a focus on the entire product development lifecycle
  • Be able to lead commercial and technical requirements elicitation, implementation, refinement, and verification for embedded systems and IoT devices
  • Have experience facilitating multi-disciplinary architecture development, technical planning, quoting, design/delivery, scope and risk management, system integration
  • Have experience commercialising products to ISO/IEC standards (ISO 13485 is a plus)
  • Have commercial acumen and a dedication to outstanding client experience
  • Have a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechatronics, Biomedical, or related discipline

The Following Skills are Favourable  

  • Hands-on technical experience in the areas of electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, firmware development, OR software development
  • Familiarity in ‘Lean’ or ‘Agile’ practices; Project Management training or certification

Where You’ll Be

  • Standard working hours of 09.00 - 17.00 with flexible options e.g. 08:00 - 16:00
