About the Role: Shape Tomorrow's Commerce Landscape
As a Technical Lead at Fluent Commerce, you will be a driving force within our product software development teams, a linchpin in our technology-focused organization. Your leadership will pave the way for successful execution and a collaborative, productive work atmosphere. Here's what your exciting journey entails:

Key Responsibilities:

Innovate and Lead:
  • Provide visionary leadership to the product and engineering teams, shaping technology choices, architecture, design patterns, and coding practices.
  • Drive innovation, constantly enhancing our existing product solutions.
Project Mastery:
  • Collaborate with product and engineering managers, defining requirements , assessing risks, and setting delivery goals using Agile principles.
  • Contribute to product prioritization, outcome assessment , and risk evaluation.
Architect the Future:
  • Design and review system architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Make informed decisions about technology stacks and integration points.
Elevate Code Quality:
  • Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Provide constructive feedback to empower team members.
Mentor and Grow:
  • Coach and mentor engineers, nurturing their technical growth and professional development.
  • Share knowledge, best practices, and industry trends.
Solve Complex Challenges:
  • Lead the resolution of intricate technical challenges, pinpointing root causes and devising effective solutions.
  • Tackle issues head-on as they arise.
Collaborate and Communicate:
  • Collaborate closely with product and engineering leads, stakeholders and align technical decisions with business goals.
  • Communicate effectively to ensure clear understanding of technical requirements.
Innovation Mindset:
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Identify avenues for innovation and process enhancement.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise:

  • Over 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer/Tech Lead, showcasing your technical prowess.
  • Strong Java and Javascript software development expertise.
  • You advocate for how to harness AI in modern Software Development and Testing practices.
  • Proven experience in software development on AWS or GCP.
  • A degree in Computer Science or equivalent, reflecting your deep knowledge.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in platform API design and development.
Bonus Points for Experience in:
  • REST, GraphQL, JSON
  • CSS, Javascript, Typescript, React
  • Spring / Hibernate / JPA
  • PostgresQL, Dynamo, AWS Aurora
  • Kubernetes, EC2/ECS, CloudFormation
  • Amazon EMR, Apache Spark and Athena

Your Path:
  • A proven track record of progressive software development roles, ideally with prior leadership experience.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field (preferred).
