Description
We are looking for a motivated Site Engineer or Project Engineer to join our team. Engineers at FSC work on infrastructure projects for various clients across road, rail, tunnelling, utilities and associated sectors.
This is a hybrid role, primarily focused on tendering and estimating, with the flexibility to support project delivery on site during peak periods. As a Site/Project Engineer, you will support the planning, estimating, and delivery of projects, ensuring technical accuracy, quality outcomes, and alignment with client requirements from project conception through to completion.
You will work with our clients and other FSC team members to plan, deliver and hand over projects throughout Victoria.
Responsibilities
In general, your responsibilities would include the following:
- Perform tendering and estimating activities, including quantity take-offs, pricing, and preparation of submissions
- Support project planning, scheduling, coordination, and monitoring of engineering works
- Assist with delivery of works on site during peak periods, as required
- Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
- Interact daily with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field
- Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, project team's performance) and report regularly on project status
- Assign responsibilities and mentor the project team
- Co-operate and communicate effectively with Project Manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
- Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions, as required
Requirements
You will be a motivated and proactive engineer with the right combination of energy and a commitment to learning. You will be willing to adapt between office-based and site-based responsibilities. You will bring your perspective and skills to diverse projects, and have ambition to design your own career path.
You will also have:
- A degree in Civil Engineering (civil infrastructure or utilities background desirable but not essential)
- 4+ years of experience in construction or civil infrastructure projects
- Experience in tendering, estimating, and project delivery
- Ability to work constructively in project teams to solve problems, drive health and safety culture and produce quality outcomes
- Strong interpersonal skills to liaise positively with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of innovative client solutions
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
- Ability to work with multiple discipline projects
