Fulton Hogan is pleased to announce we have been awarded the design and construction project for the Newcastle Inner City Bypass - Rankin Park to Jesmond. Working closely with Transport for NSW this project comprises of 3.4kms of four-lane divided road with interchanges at Newcastle Road, Lookout Road and the John Hunter Hospital precinct. Upgrades to existing connecting roads, pedestrian bridge and underpass are included in the scope of works to complete. This $450 million project is set to commence late 2022 and will provide essential infrastructure to the Newcastle community.
We are looking for talented and experienced Project Engineers with experience in Civil and Utilities to join our Newcastle Inner City Bypass Project Team. Your background in construction infrastructure projects will assist us delivering this project.
What's on offer:
As a Project Engineer at Fulton Hogan you will have full oversight on the project delivery ensuring safety, cost, quality and time targets are met; managing client, subcontractor and reporting to senior management on performance of your scope of works. We will look to you to:
  • Manage and co-coordinate supervisors, site engineers and sub-contractors across multiple work fronts and disciplines;
  • Manage budgets and cost forecasts to understand cost to complete;
  • Liaise with community, council and service authorities;
  • Program and co-ordinate works to completion by critical dates to meet planned occupation works;
  • Identify and issue variations and EOT's to subcontractor's original scope of works and analysis of costs, and;
  • Identify design and constructability issues, and assist in providing the most efficient solution, taking into account interest of key stakeholders and the delivery team.
  • Identify and manage temporary works and approvals that are necessary for each aspect of the works.
How you'll connect to the role:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil) or equivalent tertiary qualifications;
  • Experience working on construction infrastructure projects with either a civil or utility background;
  • A proven track record of delivering civil construction projects in a safe environment;
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple workloads with the flexibility and ease to adapt to situations;
  • Knowledge and experience with financial management, cost forecasting, procurement and contracts management functions;
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
