What's on offer?
We are looking for a Production Manager - Asphalt & Bitumen to join our Southern Region Infrastructure Services Division. Located in Laverton, Lara or Dandenong, the role will see you supervise all phases of plant operations including production, quality control, maintenance, receiving, and transportation.
Reporting to the Regional Manager - Manufacturing & Technical, the role will be crucial to maximising the productivity and efficiency of our plants, as well as providing leadership to the team for the successful day-to-day operation of the facilities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Work closely with the technical team to review product consistency while monitoring wastage rates to determine trends and areas of improvement.
- Review established production schedules to ensure established inventory levels are met while operating at the highest efficiency possible.
- Coordinate the hiring/scheduling of production team members.
- Monitor operation expenses and research ways to reduce costs while maintaining product quality.
- Work closely with the HSQE Advisor to ensure all members of the production team are aware of IMS procedures e.g., SWMS, working at heights, VOC to provide a safe workplace for our employees.
- Maintain and support a safe work environment and housekeeping program.
- Develop and execute the plant manufacturing budgets.
- Manage financial budgets, monthly performance reporting and strategic planning.
How you will connect to the role?
To be successful in the role, you will, ideally, have previous experience in asphalt plant and equipment maintenance, manufacturing, civil road construction or the bitumen industry working as a manager, paired with the ability to positively influence and a lead a team.
You will have the ability to build strong relationships and networks with internal and external stakeholders whilst working collaboratively across a diverse and complex environment assisting in the development of innovative and sustainable product offerings. Your proven ability to establish high performing, multi-skilled teams through coaching, mentoring & training will set you up for success.
Your availability to support ad hoc overtime, night shift and weekend work during major maintenance projects is critical.
