The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure Delivery the Project Manager will be responsible for the delivery of key projects as part of a cross functional team and will be required to support engineering and the documentation of services for maintenance and capital growth projects.
The success measures for this role include:
- Deliver effective project management of maritime projects from planning though to delivery and handover.
- Provide engineering input and drive the delivery of all design and project documentation to internal and external clients and stakeholders.
- Ensure all elements of the project scope are delivered to schedule and budget, including monthly project reporting and forecasting.
- Ensuring adherence to established company project framework, professional standards and quality standards, customer and regulatory standards.
- Undertake all activities with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Work effectively within project teams to ensure the expected outcomes for clients and key stakeholders are met, delivered on time and within budget.
- Liaise, as required with clients, government authorities, service authorities and other stakeholders.
- Participate in and contribute to, the ongoing improvement of the Infrastructure Delivery’s Department professional services and systems.
- Maintain GeelongPorts’s professional standards, meeting company objectives in relation to values, budget targets, service quality, company reputation, QA, OH&S and environmental standards.
About you
You will be a highly regarded professional and have a Civil or Marine or Infrastructure Engineering degree along with 5 years experience in a relevant industry.
You will be experienced in working in a project team, focused on delivery of key objectives whilst working with a range of contractors and stakeholders. Your superior organisational skills will be underpinned by a collaborative approach to your work.
You love the challenge of the project lifecycle and solving problems, and are motivated to create a lasting, positive impact on your team and the wider business.
You will have exceptional communication skills and must be able to lead, guide and influence teams.
Other key skills and experience include:
- Demonstrated experience in Project Management and delivery of Capital Projects
- Strong business acumen along with highly developed organisational and analytical skills and a proven ability to multitask, prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Highly experienced in an established project methodology
- Experience managing multifaceted projects including the preparation of scope and /or specifications, procurement and project management practices.
- Proficient with Microsoft Project and Office Suite
- Proficient with CAD systems (i.e AutoCAD)
- Organisational change management.
- Growth mindset.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to develop relationships, trust and rapport with a range of stakeholders at all levels.
