The Opportunity
As the Asset Maintenance Manager at GeelongPort, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of our physical assets, ensuring their reliability, efficiency, and value across their lifecycle. In this role, you will lead a skilled team of operators and trade qualified maintenance professionals, driving a positive performance culture that embraces continuous improvement, customer excellence, and change. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving a customer centric mindset, optimising asset performance, and ensuring outstanding service delivery satisfaction in a dynamic 24/7 environment.
In this role, you will:
- Manage daily operations and maintenance to ensure asset reliability, efficiency, and compliance.
- Develop enhanced maintenance programs and set clear expectations and accountability.
- Lead and inspire teams through workforce engagement and change management process.
- Lead a customer centric approach, building strong relationships with customers, port users, and stakeholders
- Implement initiatives to improve operational efficiency and service delivery.
- Manage maintenance activities to budget and drive cost improvements initiatives.
- Ensure all activities meet safety, environmental and governance standards.
What You’ll Bring
You are an experienced people leader with a proven record of success in managing teams to deliver a robust maintenance and servicing program. You have worked in a 24/7 setting and are driven to provide customer excellence in a safe environment.
Your background includes:
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical), Operations Management, Logistics, or a related discipline.
- Extensive leadership experience managing diverse teams, with a focus on developing capability.
- Demonstrated expertise in asset management, maintenance planning, and resource coordination, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Industrial relations skills, including experience working collaborative in an enterprise agreement environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of workplace health and safety, environmental compliance, and risk management.
- Communication and interpersonal skills that empower you to establish productive relationships with stakeholders at every level.
