Service Delivery Team Manager

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced people leader to manage frontline maintenance electricians, fitters, and operational personnel.

Reporting to the Asset Maintenance Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient and customer focused operational outcomes, while driving asset reliability, cost control and continuous improvement. You will lead a multidisciplinary team and play a critical role in integrating operational service delivery with maintenance planning and asset performance in a Port environment.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead day to day operational service delivery and maintenance activities to ensure safe and efficient outcomes in a Customer Excellence environment.
  • Manage resources to meet planned and unplanned service delivery demands in a 24/7 operational environment.
  • Manage weekly timesheet and leave management.
  • Be on call via a rotating roster to respond to out of hours issue escalation.
  • Coordinate maintenance, operations and planning to optimise asset, berth and workforce availability.
  • Drive continuous improvement across safety, efficiency, performance and cost control.
  • Ensure effective maintenance planning, scheduling and reporting using Maximo.
  • Manage contractors and ensure compliance with safety, environmental and company requirements.
  • Maintain strong financial oversight, including budgeting, forecasting and cost control.
  • Conduct risk assessments, root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead, coach and develop the maintenance and operations teams.
  • Manage training needs analysis, compliance requirements and execution of plan.
  • Promote GeelongPort’s values, safety culture and expected behaviours at all times.

What You’ll Bring

You are a hands-on operational leader with strong technical credibility and a proven ability to lead people in a safety critical, asset intensive environment.

Your background:

  • Trade qualification in electrical or mechanical is mandatory.
  • Electrical Certificate IV highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated people leadership capability, including coaching, performance management and workforce planning.
  • Knowledge of maintenance management, preventative maintenance and operational service delivery.
  • Experience working with computerised maintenance management systems (ideally Maximo).
  • Sound understanding of workplace relations and enterprise agreement environments.
  • Strong organisational, reporting and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills.
  • A strong commitment to safety, environmental responsibility and continuous improvement.
  • Manage training and development programs.
  • Experience with Lock Out Tag Out/ permit to work / high risk work / contractor induction and compliance.
