Why Join Georgiou - A STRABAG company
Georgiou is looking for a proactive, confident and motivated and driven Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our People team and support recruitment across our NSW business.
This is a great opportunity for someone who has developed solid foundations in talent acquisition/recruitment and is ready to take the next step in their career, with greater ownership, exposure and opportunities to develop within the civil infrastructure industry.
Culture is a big part of who we are at Georgiou. We're looking for someone who values relationships, works well with others and genuinely cares about the experience they create for candidates and hiring managers. How you communicate, follow through on commitments and contribute to the team matters just as much as your recruitment experience.
You don't need to have done it all. What matters is that you're confident in your recruitment fundamentals, comfortable taking initiative and genuinely motivated to learn, develop and make an impact.
At Georgiou-now proudly part of STRABAG SE, one of Europe's largest construction technology groups-you'll join a business where local expertise meets global opportunity. For nearly 50 years, we've built Australia's infrastructure and our reputation for being the best people to work with.
With Georgiou's local knowledge and experience and STRABAG's forward-thinking innovation, we're delivering projects that connect communities, develop people, and set new industry benchmarks, all while staying true to the culture and values that make Georgiou unique.
Why You'll Love Working Here
- Build impact that lasts - work on iconic projects shaping Australian communities.
- Grow without limits - access world-class training, mentoring, and career pathways across Australia and STRABAG's global network.
- Flexibility that works for you - enjoy wellbeing leave, paid parental leave, and support to help you stay connected to life beyond work.
- Belong and be supported - inclusive facilities like free hygiene products, parental and prayer rooms, and wellbeing programs.
- A culture that cares - our values of Care, Integrity, and Excellence guide everything we do.
- Reward for your work - competitive packages, annual reviews, and access to the Georgiou Perks discounts platform.
About the Role
Reporting to our HR Manager, you'll manage end-to-end recruitment across a diverse portfolio of roles within our NSW business, working closely with hiring managers to understand their teams, projects and future resourcing needs, while building strong relationships across the business.
This is a hands-on recruitment role where proactive sourcing, candidate engagement and relationship building are key. You'll be confident using recruitment platforms, approaching potential candidates and exploring different ways to attract talent beyond traditional advertising.
You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of your recruitment portfolio while continuing to build your knowledge of the business, the civil infrastructure industry and different recruitment disciplines.
While NSW will be your primary focus, you'll be part of a broader People team working across other states. We work collaboratively, share knowledge and support each other when recruitment demands fluctuate.
We're looking for someone who is comfortable taking initiative, asking questions and bringing fresh ideas. You'll be encouraged to challenge existing approaches, identify improvements and develop your confidence as a trusted recruitment partner to the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end recruitment across the NSW business, from understanding the brief and sourcing through to offer and onboarding.
- Proactively source and engage talent through LinkedIn, SEEK, direct approaches, referrals and industry networks.
- Build and maintain talent pipelines, supporting workforce planning and helping the business stay ahead of future capability needs.
- Partner closely with hiring managers, providing practical recruitment advice, market insight and regular communication throughout the process.
- Create targeted advertising and deliver a high-quality candidate experience, with a strong focus on communication, responsiveness and follow-through.
- Contribute ideas to improve our sourcing, employer brand, systems, processes and overall recruitment service.
Your Skills and Experience
You'll have developed a solid foundation in recruitment or talent acquisition and be looking for an opportunity to take greater ownership, broaden your experience and continue developing your career.
You may be an agency recruiter looking to transition in-house, or already working within an internal talent acquisition/recruitment team and ready for your next challenge. Either way, we're interested in your approach to recruitment, your confidence engaging with people and your willingness to learn.
You'll ideally bring:
- Practical experience managing recruitment processes, with a good understanding of sourcing, screening, interviewing and candidate management.
- Confidence proactively sourcing and approaching candidates through LinkedIn, SEEK and other recruitment channels.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to build credibility with candidates and hiring managers.
- A proactive, organised and accountable approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and follow through on commitments.
- Curiosity and initiative to understand different roles, ask the right questions and find solutions
- A collaborative mindset, openness to feedback and a genuine interest in continuing to develop your recruitment capability.
- Experience recruiting within civil construction, infrastructure, engineering, mining or another technical environment would be highly regarded.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone with the right attitude and potential. Someone who is confident without needing to know everything, takes ownership without being afraid to ask questions, and genuinely enjoys connecting people with opportunities.
