Role Details:
Reporting to the Superintendent: Environmental, you will be responsible for the contribution of environmental activities within the operation which meet current and anticipated demands in accordance with Gold Fields EHS standards whilst maintaining strict compliance with relevant legislative and statutory requirements to ensure sustainable mining operations.

This role can be offered as residential in Kambalda or Kalgoorlie on a 5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off roster. Bus transportation is offered to and from site for residential candidates and relocation assistance will be offered to the successful candidate if required.

About the role:
-
Partner with key stakeholders in the provision of proactive environmental management plan (particularly land disturbance, water, waste and biodiversity management)

Ensure effective controls are in place to manage the compliant with legislative, heritage and company obligations
-
Contribute to sustainable mining by advising on and facilitating approvals for operations

Undertake stakeholder engagement including meetings with regulators and local communities

Assist in the continuous improvement and maintenance of the site’s ISO14001 certified Environmental Management System

Coordinate and undertake site monitoring programs, data collection and analysis, and reporting to ensure compliance with legal and other requirements.
About you:

Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science
-
A strong understanding of Western Australia legislation (DMIRS, DWER, DPLH and DBCA)

Intermediate level of competency in Microsoft Office and ArcGIS applications

Proven experience in an environmental function within the mining sector

Possess a Valid Driver’s License
