Gold Fields is a globally diversified gold producer with nine operating mines in Australia, Peru, South Africa and West Africa (including the Asanko JV), as well as one project in Chile.

Gold Fields' mining assets in the Australia region (GFA) include a 100% interest in the St Ives, Agnew and Granny Smith mines and a 50:50 interest in the Gruyere JV project with Gold Road Resources.

St Ives Gold Mine is located 20km south-east of Kambalda and approximately 80 km south of Kalgoorlie. It is comprised of both open pit and underground operations and produces over 350,000 ounces of gold per annum.

Role Details:

Reporting to the General Manager at St Ives, you will be responsible for all site-based capital projects.

This role would be offered on a 4 days on, 3 days off roster Fly in Fly out from Perth.

About the role:

  • Support study development for potential & identified projects including leading of scoping, feasibility and engineering studies;

  • Working closely with onsite stakeholders, Gold Fields Australia (GFA) and offsite resources to ensure timeline and site requirement compliance;

  • Project management of approved mine and cross department projects utilising a formal project management framework demonstrating strong and explicit safety leadership, plans, monitors & controls of projects and deliver to a defined standard;

  • Provide technology solutions to ensure delivered projects are not only capital effective but have low maintenance costs and a high level of future integration;

  • Provide feedback for the regional direction of the Projects within the Australasian region, working closely with the GFA project team to develop systems and processes;

  • Ensure all regional engineering and projects systems, policies, processes, procedures & resources are adhered too;

  • Provide technical support & advice to operational personnel;

  • Identify best practice and assist in review and potential implementation in alignment with GFA project team requirements;

  • Participate in cross-functional interaction with core functions i.e., Mining, Geology, Processing, Engineer for a unified approach to Project evaluation and execution.

About you:

  • Bachelor of Engineering

  • Ideally formal Project Management Qualifications i.e., PMP

  • Prior Project Management experience in the mining &/or mineral processing envrionment

  • Exposure to organisational strategy working collaboratively within a multifunctional management team

  • Valid WA Drivers Licence

  • First Aid Certificate
