Gold Fields' mining assets in the Australia region (GFA) include a 100% interest in the St Ives, Agnew and Granny Smith mines and a 50:50 interest in the Gruyere JV project with Gold Road Resources.
The underground mobile maintenance team at Agnew Gold Mine have an opportunity for a HD Fitter – Underground to join the team.
Role Details
Reporting to the Leading Hand: Mechanical, you will be responsible for carrying out preventative and scheduled maintenance and breakdowns on Surface and Underground equipment as directed by your Supervisor.

This role is offered on an 8 days on, 6 days off, 7 nights on, 7 days off roster and is FIFO from Perth.

About the role:
- Perform preventative maintenance through scheduled inspections, servicing, adjustments, troubleshooting and timely repair of mobile equipment
- Provide reliable and accurate maintenance knowledge, expertise and practical application to minimize down time and subsequent loss of production
- Assist with ongoing training and mentoring of apprentices and trainees and supervising of contractors
- Requisitioning of parts and materials and processing of maintenance orders
- Develop, implement and maintain adherence to appropriate procedures and processes to ensure consistent, timely and efficient delivery of mining plans.
About you:
- Australian recognised Heavy Mechanical Trade Qualification
- Previous experience in mechanical maintenance in an underground environment and knowledge of mining technologies and equipment
- Creation of Workorders/Backlogs for defects and future repairs in the requisitioning of Parts line.
- Experience with Atlas M7C drills and MT65 trucks, CAT R2900 and R1700 loaders and Sandvik development drills DD421
- Experience with Volvo 120F IT’s and Normet Charge Wagons preferable
- Automotive Air Conditioning Licence
- Valid manual driver’s license
- High Risk license with forklift, DG, EWP
- Previous SAP & AMT experience is desirable
