Gruyere Gold Mine is a 50:50 joint venture between Gold Fields Ltd and Gold Road Resources.

It is located in the Yamarna Greenstone Belt, approximately 200km east of Laverton in the north-eastern Goldfields region of Western Australia.

Gruyere Gold Mine, a Gold Fields and Gold Road Resources Joint Venture (50/50) located in the Yamarna Greenstone Belt in Western Australia. This newly constructed mine site is one of Australia’s largest and lowest cost gold mining operations boasting a plant production of 300,000+ ounces per annum with an enviable production profile in excess of 10 years.

Role Details:

Reporting to the Coordinator: Emergency Services & Security, you will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of company operational and commercial targets in a safe, productive & efficient manner by delivering a comprehensive emergency response service to site.

This role is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off roster and is Fly in Fly out from Perth.

About the role:

  • Ensuring compliance to schedule of all routine maintenance checks and annual checks are maintained.
  • Conduct onsite Drug & Alcohol screening in line with site drug and Alcohol policy and Fitness for work.
  • Partake in training and real-life accident/emergency situations, taking direction from delegated personnel.
  • Ensure that emergency communication systems are tested, operational and consistently monitored.
  • Assess risk associated with emergency response scenarios and activities are adequately assessed, and effective controls are in place to reduce risk to as low as reasonably practical
  • Develop external relationships and agreements for mutual aid in an emergency response situation.
  • Update and training of Emergency Crisis and Emergency Management processes on site
  • Assist in the development for routine ERT skills training, first aid, skills maintenance training and ERT field scenario training for the Emergency Response Team
  • Provide a professional First Aid / Pre-Hospital care service, with the medical assessment and appropriate minor treatment of personnel, whilst consulting with Injury Management on applicable cases
  • Support the site security team in performing duties in line with the site security manual.

About you:

  • Certificate III in Mines Rescue, with competence in all aspects including but not limited to Open Circuit Breathing Apparatus, Fire suppression, Hazmat, Rope Rescue, Vehicle extrication, Confined space Rescue, Road Crash Rescue
  • Certificate IV in Health Care (Ambulance)
  • Possess a valid Drivers Licence, HR driver’s Licence
  • Drug and Alcohol testing Certification
