Role Details:

Reporting to the Metallurgist, assist the Metallurgical Assistant with routine and non-routine sample preparation and analysis as required by the Metallurgical Department and to support Operations through the provision of plant results in a safe, appropriate, professional and cost-effective manner.

This role is offered on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster, and would require the incumbent to be residential in Kambalda or Kalgoorlie.

About the role:

  • Comply with the OHS and Environmental standards

  • Build your general understanding of the Processing Plant in the areas of crushing, grinding, leaching, elution, refining (electrowinning & smelting), tailings disposal and plant services.

  • Conduct sample preparation and sample analysis as directed by the Metallurgical Assistant, ensuring safety, quality and production levels are always adhered to

  • Carry out the regular cleaning, preventative maintenance and housekeeping of laboratory equipment and areas.

  • Administration including the use of SAP and other systems

  • Ensure process plant monitoring instrumentation is calibrated and maintained

About you:

  • Current Manual Driver’s License is essential

  • Certificate 3 or 4 in Laboratory Techniques is preferred

  • Previous experience in a mineral processing environment, site laboratory or plant desirable

  • Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal

  • Intermediate computer skills

  • Ability to problem-solve
