Electrical Communications Technician

Role Details:
Reporting to the Mine Production Superintendent at St Ives, you will be responsible for working within a group to implement and maintain Goldfields Innovation & Technology pipeline projects.

About the role:
- Routine inspections of machinery and fixed plant and carry out preventive measures and condition reporting.
- Fault-finding, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of the communications networks. Experience using Spectrum Analyzer and OTDR necessary.
- Design, repair, and Installation of communications equipment: 4G LTE, MW network links, Leaky Feeder, Fibre Optics, Structured Cabling, Wenco fleet management and collision awareness system
- Programming Motorola Digital Radios and Repeaters.
- Commissioning of new communication technology introduced to the site.
- Recording all relevant information into goldfields CMMS- AMT/SAP as required.
- Ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment
About you:
- WA “A” Class Electrical Workers License – Highly Desirable
- Current manual C Class Driver’s License
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in radio communications, telemetry networks and maintenance in surface and underground mining environment
- Open cabling ticket with fibre endorsement, structured cabling and coaxial is desirable
- Tertiary qualification in IT, Communications and or Instrumentation is desirable
