Gold Fields Group Services (Pty) Ltd

This role can be based in any region where Gold Fields operates.

At Gold Fields, sustainability leadership is a core strategic pillar underpinning our 2035 targets and long-term success. Guided by our purpose to create enduring value beyond mining we are committed to achieving measurable, nature-positive outcomes aligned with leading international frameworks and global best practice.

We are seeking a Nature Lead Specialist to play a key role in shaping and embedding our Group nature strategy across our global portfolio.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Vice President Environmental Performance, you will provide strategic and technical input into the development and implementation of the Group nature strategy and associated programmes.

This role offers geographic flexibility and may be based in any region where Gold Fields operates, subject to business requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with global and asset-level stakeholders and should be comfortable engaging across multiple jurisdictions and time zones.

You will collaborate across assets and corporate functions to strengthen environmental performance, manage nature-related risks and opportunities, and drive consistent global standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and integration of Group and asset-level nature strategies
  • Lead the update and roll-out of Group nature guidelines aligned to strategy
  • Monitor and report quarterly and annual performance against Group nature requirements
  • Identify and coordinate mitigation of key nature risks and optimisation opportunities
  • Provide technical support to assets on biodiversity and nature-related matters
  • Drive data integrity, innovation and system improvements in nature reporting
  • Conduct quality control and technical review of executive and Board SH&SD Committee reporting
  • Represent Gold Fields in relevant industry forums including International Council on Mining and Metals and World Gold Council

About You

You are an experienced environmental leader with deep expertise in biodiversity and nature management within complex operational environments.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Honours degree in Environmental Science or related field
  • Strong experience in biodiversity, environmental impact assessment and operational integration
  • Proven capability in environmental management systems, standards, KPIs and reporting
  • Experience embedding environmental performance into broader business systems

Why Join Us?

This is a unique opportunity to shape nature performance at a global level within a leading international gold producer. You will contribute directly to strategic sustainability outcomes, influence executive-level decision-making, and help position Gold Fields at the forefront of responsible mining.

If you are motivated by driving meaningful environmental impact at scale, we invite you to apply.

Flexible working arrangements are encouraged to help you balance work, family, and life.
