Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV) is the statutory authority responsible for regulating, conducting and promoting greyhound racing in Victoria, a sport that annually generates around $500 million in economic activity and over $3 billion in wagering and directly involves over 15,000 people. The Greyhound Racing Integrity Unit (GRIU) Stewards Panel is key in upholding the integrity of the industry through ensuring transparent and fair conduct of racing.
About the Opportunity
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join the GRIU Stewards Panel.
The primary purpose of the role is to uphold the integrity of the industry. GRV Stewards are responsible for race meetings being conducted in accordance with the Rules of Racing and GRV policies and guidelines for participants. You may be part of a race day team or, in charge, chairing the race meeting.
Stewards also assist with investigating incidents and potential breaches of the Rules of Racing. This includes assisting GRIU Prosecutions with cases heard at the Victorian Racing Tribunal and appeals at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
The role requires flexible working with a combination of day, afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts determined by the GRV race meeting schedule.
About You
We are seeking a candidate who has:
- demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills
- experience in coordinating the work of others and providing clear direction
- a strong appreciation of the importance of rules and regulations
- a Victorian driver’s licence
- a good understanding of the racing industry (desirable)
- demonstrated experience in race-day stewarding or transferrable skills of a similar nature.
- sound MS Office skills and the ability to prepare standard reports
