Who we are
Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV) is the statutory authority responsible for regulating, conducting and promoting greyhound racing in Victoria, a sport that annually generates around $550 million in economic activity and over $3 billion in wagering and directly involves over 15,000 people.
The Greyhound Adoption Program (GAP) is a key component of GRV’s animal welfare strategies, providing retired greyhounds the opportunity to become a valued family pet and ensuring GRV is a leading force in the welfare of greyhounds in Victoria.
Our vision is “Victorian Greyhound Racing is a vibrant, entertaining and thriving sport with animal welfare at its heart”.
A paw-sitive opportunity for you
We are looking for a motivated Adoption Coordinator to join our team on a full-time, ongoing basis working Tuesday to Saturday.
So…what’s involved in greyhound adoptions? It starts with updating greyhound information online to attract customers, completing adoption paperwork and preparing adoption packs for their new family, and checking in by phone post-adoption. We have regular adoption promotions which you will be part of. Your demonstrated customer service skills and administrative experience will ensure your success.
Are you part of the pack? This is important because we share responsibility for responding to phone enquiries and ensuring all visitors follow applicable infection control protocols to keep each other and our dogs safe. If you have excellent data entry and record management skills and can put together simple reports, that will help.
Last, but not least, you must be able to handle large dogs. Our greyhounds may look small, but they can weigh up to 40kg, so we trust you have a good arm!
Let’s talk benefits!
When you join our team, you become part of something bigger. We’re all here to make a pawsitive difference and have fun along the way. We’ll provide you with interesting and rewarding work, helping greyhounds to find their forever home, with ongoing professional development, alongside work-life balance to seal the deal.
We support our people with access to free and confidential counselling, free onsite parking, free corporate uniform, and animal friendly workplaces.
If you’re interested in working with our four-legged friends, apply today!
