Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV) is the statutory authority responsible for regulating, conducting, and promoting greyhound racing and welfare in our state.
The sport generates $600 million in economic activity, over $3 billion in wagering, returns $60 million in prize money, and directly involves over 17,000 people.
Our vision is “Victorian greyhound racing is a vibrant, entertaining and thriving sport with animal welfare at its heart”. The integrity of the sport and the welfare of greyhounds are both significant components of the strategic objectives of GRV.
A fur-tastic opportunity for you
We’re looking for one casual Kennel Attendant to join our motivated GAP team at Seymour.
If you love dogs, and are excited to work hands on with greyhounds, this role is for you!
As our successful candidate, you will ensure all daily greyhound needs are met including feeding, watering, cleaning kennels, exercising, and providing enrichment activities such as structured play, training, and behavioral reinforcement.
Our greyhounds will show their appreciation by providing cuddles and kisses each and every day
Skills and Experience:
While experience working in an animal shelter plus post-secondary studies in animal care/welfare would be advantageous, ultimately, it will be your knack for building relationships and collaboration that will ensure your success with GAP. Due to the nature of our work, our successful candidate will need to hold a valid driver licence.
Fun fact! Looks can be deceiving… our greyhounds can weigh up to 40kg, so you must be physically fit, and comfortable to handle large dog breeds. Training on safe handling will be provided.
Our team works every day from 7:30am to 4pm, with weekday and weekend rosters available. We kindly ask that you outline your availability in your cover letter.
Let’s talk benefits
When you join our team, you become part of something bigger. We’re all here to make a difference and have fun along the way. We’ll provide you with interesting and rewarding work, helping greyhounds to find their forever home, with ongoing professional development, alongside work-life balance to seal the deal.
We support our people with access to free and fun events such as Midsumma Pride March and the Royal Melbourne Show, free onsite parking, free corporate uniform, and animal friendly workplaces.
