Diversity and Inclusion

At Sandvik - DSI Underground, we respect and value differences because we understand that it is our diverse and inclusive culture that contributes to our success. Our attitude towards diversity and inclusion reflects modern multicultural Australia and the diverse global network in which we operate. We encourage a culture of inclusion where all individuals feel respected, are treated fairly, and have an opportunity to excel in their chosen careers.

We are also proud to be an equal employment opportunity employer and are committed to hiring the best person for all roles and the organisation in order to create and maintain a diverse and inclusive culture for all.

Our People

Our customers and partners rely on us and our systems. In order to live up to our high standards, we depend on passionate employees who think the same way we do. It is important for us that new colleagues become part of our large family and share our values and corporate culture. Sandvik - DSI Underground offers trainees, university graduates and experienced professionals exciting job opportunities in an attractive working environment.

Work / Life Balance

Whilst we operate as a "large family" within the workplace, we also recognise that balancing work and other life priorities can be a juggle. We therefore offer a variety of flexible working arrangements which may assist employees to balance their work, personal and family needs, with all flexible working arrangement requests being considered on a case-by-case basis.

Who We Are

Sandvik - DSI Underground is Australia’s largest manufacturer and supplier of specialist strata reinforcement and support products to the underground coal and metalliferous mining sectors. We are also a major exporter of these products to the Asia-Pacific Region. We operate in 70 countries and employ over 2,500 employees worldwide with operations across Europe, Africa, Asia-Pacific and the Americas.

Purpose and Mission

We are mining and tunnelling experts. As individuals, teams and a business, we are passionate about driving progress underground and helping our customers work faster, smarter, and more safely and sustainably. We believe that even the smallest improvement helps make an incremental difference. In everything we do – every action and transaction, every visit and phone call, every decision and interaction – we are committed to adding value and helping our customers make sustainable progress with their mines and tunnels, operations and processes.

As a company, our philosophy is “Forward”. This summarises our approach to work, customers and problem solving. It is only by living our values, adhering to our philosophy, and upholding our mission that we can lead the way in ground support for both the mining and tunnelling industries.
