About the company

The Tamar Valley Power Station was originally commissioned by Aurora Energy in 2009 and acquired by AETV Pty Ltd (AETV) in June 2013 as a subsidiary company of Hydro Tasmania. The 386 MW station comprises 208 MW of Combined Cycle Gas generation (CCGT) and 178 MW of Open Cycle Gas generation (OCGT).

AETV operates as part of the Hydro Tasmania asset fleet, an organisation that, with the help of over 30,000 people over more than 100 years, has built, maintained, and refurbished power infrastructure across Tasmania. As an interconnected entity within Tasmania’s energy landscape, AETV plays a distinct yet complementary role in delivering reliable energy solutions.
