‘Battery of the Nation’ is Hydro Tasmania’s bold vision to maximise Tasmania’s hydropower capacity, including the redevelopment of the Tarraleah hydropower scheme to a more flexible, future proof generating asset and developing our first pumped hydro scheme at Lake Cethana.
Tasmania has significant potential in the future development of wind and hydropower, coupled with more transmission and interconnection. It's anticipated these developments will drive billions of dollars in investment and create hundreds of jobs in Tasmania, as well as delivering energy security for Tasmania and lowest possible power prices for Tasmanians.

About You:
With over 15 years’ experience in engineering and construction project management, your extensive experience is demonstrated in your successful track record of delivering high value hydropower developments. Your background as a client or integrated owner brings valuable insight to senior-level operations, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping critical business decisions and ensuring the effective delivery of projects. Your proficiency in robust program and project management disciplines underscores your acute attention to detail and strategic acumen, essential for guiding initiatives towards their intended business outcomes. Your high attention to detail, coupled with strategic oversight, is key in your approach. Additionally, your expertise in senior stakeholder management and leadership within cross-functional teams significantly strengthens your capacity to effectively navigate the intricate landscape of complex deliverables that may arise during project implementation.
About the role:
As the Project Director for the Tarraleah hydropower redevelopment, you'll be at the helm of one of Hydro Tasmania's most crucial initiatives, steering it towards the realisation of our renewable energy vision. Your role entails overseeing every aspect of the project, ensuring that it aligns with our organisational objectives and meets key parameters of scope, time, cost, and quality. Coordinating with a diverse array of stakeholders, you will effectively manage the design and construction whilst making well-informed decisions ensuring the project aligns with broader societal and ethical responsibilities. Leading a multidisciplinary team will be central to your role, as you'll guide and inspire them towards shared project goals and ultimately driving the success of the Tarraleah redevelopment and contributing significantly to the overarching objectives of the Battery of the Nation program. Overall, as Project Director, you'll be instrumental in shaping the future of renewable energy in Tasmania.
