looking to make a real impact? We’re building our talent pipeline for upcoming opportunities across Hydro Tasmania’s asset portfolio, from major infrastructure refurbishments to ongoing optimisation of our hydropower stations.

Salary ranges from $117,986 to $163,308 depending on experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Support delivery of major refurbishment, upgrade and modernisation projects across critical assets.

  • Own scopes, specs and designs that drive quality and technical clarity.

  • Spot risks early and put strong technical and safety controls in place.

  • Drive the full engineering lifecycle, from concept to commissioning to close‑out.

Skills & experience

  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

  • Experience with hydropower, rotating plant or refurbishment work.

  • Strong capability in design, specification and problem solving.

  • Proven experience with HV equipment or control systems.

  • Ability to manage engineering lifecycle for complex projects.

  • Confident communicating technical advice to diverse stakeholders.

  • Background in onsite activities such as testing or commissioning.
